Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that search service. San Juan County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider receives the query under its own privacy practices, so visitors should review the provider's notice before submitting information.
Emails and Contact Messages
If you email us or use a contact form, we retain the message and the contact details included with it as needed to prepare and send a response. We do not share those messages outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law, court process, or another valid legal demand.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Ordinary technical records may be created when a browser requests a page. Those records help deliver the site, diagnose failures, and understand traffic patterns. They may include:
- The visitor's Internet Protocol address
- Browser name, type, and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when supplied
- Date and time stamps for requests
Cookies and Similar Tools
Cookies may be used to measure how visitors move through the site and to support site or advertising functions. Most browsers let users reject, limit, or delete cookies. Blocking them may cause some features to work differently or not work at all.
Reasons We Use Information
Information is used only for ordinary site operations, service delivery, measurement, troubleshooting, and advertising functions.
- Operate the site and maintain reasonable speed
- Send search requests to the appropriate partner service
- Measure which San Juan County resource pages visitors use
- Detect, investigate, and correct technical faults
- Present advertising that may reflect visitor interests
Privacy Beyond This Website
Links may lead to San Juan County release-record resources, Sheriff pages, Utah corrections and parole systems, court portals, federal locators, and third-party search tools. After a visitor follows a link, the destination's own privacy notice and data practices apply. We do not set those outside rules.
Some advertising partners may use their own technology to recognize activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That processing occurs on the partner's systems, not on systems controlled by San Juan County Released Inmates.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may still pass to service providers or public authorities as needed for the functions described in this notice:
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads
- Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Safeguard Data
We use standard, reasonable practices intended to protect information in our control. No internet transmission, connected system, or storage method is completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that a security incident will never occur or offer a breach-proof guarantee.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent, guardian, or affected person believes that a minor submitted information, they may use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on the information involved and the law that applies, a visitor may make the following requests about personal data in our control:
- Ask for a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask that eligible personal information be erased
- Opt out of certain processing when that choice applies
