USCF Release Destinations
Utah State Correctional Facility is at 1480 North 8000 West in Salt Lake City. It is not a San Juan County jail. UDC prisoners from across Utah may be confined there, and USCF is the usual state release-processing site for prisoners transported from contract county jails. San Juan County Jail participates in that placement system. A prisoner can therefore leave Monticello in state custody, arrive at USCF, and complete a parole or release event later.
After USCF processing, a person may enter parole, go to a community correctional center when ordered, transfer within the UDC system, or reach sentence expiration. Parole is conditional release from prison under UDC supervision. It is not final discharge. A person may also have probation tied to a court order. The record should identify the exact event instead of using “released” for every change.

Search USCF Release Status
The official UDC offender search covers people currently in UDC custody or under UDC supervision. It does not cover a San Juan County pretrial detainee who has not been sentenced to state prison. Search by at least one letter in both first and last name, with an optional middle name, or enter the UDC offender number. Match the result using the offender number, name, and date of birth.

- Open the matching detail and read Location and Housing Facility before drawing a release conclusion.
- Record the exact Release Date/Type value, including N/A when that is what the system shows.
- Note the Case Manager and Case Manager Email when supervision is current.
- Open the latest Board decision to learn whether parole, rehearing, rescission, or another outcome controls.

USCF Release Day Processing
UDC's official release-day information says state releases and paroles are processed every Tuesday, mostly at the USCF release building. Contract-jail prisoners are brought to USCF for a 10 a.m. arrival, and processing may take one to four hours. Direct release from the contract county jail is extremely rare. Family is notified if that rare route applies.

People with rides leave after processing. UDC says a person without a ride may be transported case by case to nearby UTA TRAX and will release after those who have rides. People paroling to a community correctional center receive UDC transport. These Salt Lake rules should not be applied to a local detainee leaving San Juan County Jail on bond.
Note: A planned Board date remains distinct from the actual USCF processing event and can change before release is completed.
USCF Parole Decision Records
The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole decides parole for state prisoners. Its hearing and decision search accepts a first and last name, optional middle name, offender number, or date range. Search results can show upcoming hearings and older decisions. Open the actual decision. The occurrence of a hearing does not mean parole was granted, and a future date may still be reviewed.
Utah uses indeterminate sentences. A court may set a range, while the Board weighs the sentence structure, guideline date, presentence report, offense, treatment and rehabilitation needs, institutional record, supervision history, victim information, and release plan. Guidelines do not create a right to release. A rescission hearing can revisit a previously granted date before the person leaves.

Obtain USCF Release Records
UDC's public-information route lists legal status, housing, offenses and sentence, Board hearing or rehearing date, parole or expiration date, and prison photo or mug shot among basic public fields. Actual records and previously compiled data require a written GRAMA request. Ask for the existing release, parole, or expiration entry and its related Board or court reference. Do not ask UDC to create a forecast.

Public records may be released, while private, controlled, or protected material requires authorization or another legal basis. A court record follows the judicial request process rather than UDC GRAMA.

San Juan Contract Prisoner Transfer
The UDC Inmate Placement Program independently identifies San Juan County as a participating jail. San Juan also operates an approved male CBI-SO program. A person in that state program remains a UDC prisoner even though the Sheriff runs the building. Treatment or placement there does not convert the sentence into a county sentence.

When a local record says the person left San Juan County Jail, ask whether USCF received the person for processing. Then match the UDC event date. This keeps transport, gate departure, parole, and final discharge from collapsing into one vague release date.
Confirm Final USCF Discharge
Parole can run through the maximum expiration unless the Board ends it earlier. Thus, release from USCF and discharge from the sentence may fall years apart. Current UDC Location marked PAROLE confirms supervision, not completion. A later no-result may reflect full termination, a search mismatch, or another reason. Obtain the termination or expiration record before stating that supervision ended.
The most reliable packet combines the UDC detail, latest Board decision, actual release or parole transaction, and final termination record when discharge is claimed. Add the court judgment to explain the sentence. Each item proves a limited fact. Together, they answer where the person went, whether UDC supervision continued, and when state custody or supervision truly ended.
