Region 6 Release Supervision
Utah Department of Corrections Adult Probation and Parole provides field supervision. The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole decides prison parole, while a court orders probation. AP&P does not make either grant. For San Juan County, UDC assigns supervision through Region 6. Its verified public office is in Moab and serves Grand and San Juan Counties.
A person released from Utah prison on parole remains under UDC supervision. A probationer may have served jail time, received a suspended sentence, or entered community supervision under a court order. Neither label means that all parts of the sentence ended. The order, current UDC record, and any termination document must agree before final discharge is claimed.

Verify Region 6 Release Status
Start with the UDC offender search. It covers people currently in UDC custody or supervision. Search by first and last name, using at least one letter in each field, with the middle name if useful. An offender number is more precise. Open the matching record and review Location, Housing Facility, Release Date/Type, Case Manager, and Case Manager Email.

- Read Location first. PAROLE and PROBATION indicate current community supervision categories.
- Check Housing Facility so confinement is not mistaken for community placement.

The Blanding Government Services Center at 522 North 100 East lists AP&P as a tenant. UDC does not publish a separate Blanding public phone or walk-in schedule on the current regional office list. Use the verified Moab office rather than assuming service hours or a direct number for Blanding.

Region 6 Release Authority
For parole, search the Utah Board hearing and decision records. The tool accepts a first and last name, optional middle name, offender number, or date range. It can return upcoming hearings and earlier decisions. Open the decision document. A hearing date alone does not state whether parole was granted, denied, rescinded, or set for later review.
For probation, read the sentencing court's order. San Juan County felony and Class A misdemeanor matters generally route through the Seventh District Court. Most Class B and C misdemeanors, infractions, traffic matters, and local ordinances go through justice court. A court order explains supervision authority, but the UDC record and Region 6 assignment show present administration.

The Board record supports parole decisions, not the exact moment prison staff completed physical release processing.
Note: Parole and probation can use the same field office, but they begin under different legal authorities and end through different records.
Region 6 Warrants and Absence
UDC explains that AP&P may seek an arrest warrant when a supervised person absconds. An absconder is someone alleged to have stopped reporting or left supervision without permission. No official public San Juan County or statewide AP&P absconder-name list was found. Never infer absconding from an empty UDC search or missed contact.
A warrant, revocation, rescission, or transfer can change the record. If the latest Board decision granted parole but UDC still shows a housing facility, check the effective date and any later action. If UDC shows PAROLE but a court file mentions a warrant, ask the responsible office which order is current. Exact dates and source ownership prevent two valid records from being forced into one false conclusion.

San Juan Release Reentry Route
San Juan County Jail has a special state-contract role. UDC identifies the jail as a Sex Offense Treatment Program site for eligible state prisoners. Statewide reentry planning may include case management, treatment, education, vital documents, and AP&P coordination. Those services concern UDC prisoners placed there. They do not establish a county-run reentry office or show that every locally booked detainee receives Region 6 supervision.
Most UDC prisoners in contract county jails travel to USCF for Tuesday state release processing. If paroled back to San Juan County, Region 6 then provides field supervision. The person's release plan and Board order control the actual destination. A community correctional center may be used elsewhere in Utah, but no UDC community correctional center is identified in San Juan County.
Property rules also depend on place. San Juan's FAQ permits authorized pickup of an inmate's personal items but publishes no released-person pickup hours. USCF and CUCF use separate UDC appointment and identification rules. Call the office that holds the property instead of applying state-prison procedures to the county jail or the reverse.
Region 6 Discharge Records
A current UDC detail, the controlling order, and the termination or expiration entry form the useful supervision record set. For parole, Utah law generally allows the term to continue through maximum expiration unless the Board ends it sooner. Release from prison is therefore not the same as discharge from the sentence. For probation, the court's order and any later termination matter.
UDC's public-information route provides access to releasable fields and written GRAMA requests. Ask for the existing supervision, termination, or expiration record for the named offender and cite the offender number. If a protected part is withheld, request segregable public portions and the legal basis. Region 6 may verify a current assignment, but a durable claim should rest on the official record.
